The Tornadoes, Strathmore’s men’s handball team, have been voted team of the year twice (2017 and 2019) during the annual Sports and Clubs Awards at Strathmore University. Part of the team, Rashid Ingwela, Jackson Maloba, Allan Simiyu, and Maxwell Munene represented Kenya in Tunisia in January 2020 at the 24th All African Games Tokyo Olympics qualifiers. The tornadoes are the defending champions of the KUSA handball national competitions. In 2019, they finished the national league at position 2, a point behind the winners and bowed out at the semifinals stage of the men’s national Super Cup. For the last five years, the Strathmore Tornadoes have qualified for the Super Cup.
